What the officer is deciding
Article 32 of the Visa Code: the purpose and conditions of the stay must be justified, means of subsistence proven, and the officer must be satisfied the applicant will leave before the visa expires.
Every question in a Germany Schengen C interview serves this one decision. An answer that does not help the officer decide it is wasted time, and in a 12-minute interview there is none to waste.
